Wykeham House, Banbury Road, Oxford, 1866
William was employed by John Gibbs to carve a statue of William of Wykeham for a house Gibbs was designing on Banbury Road in Oxford. William was obviously a favourite artist of Gibbs as he had already worked with him in Radnor and Galton on two very large monuments
No 56 Banbury road is Wykeham House, but number 54, Wycliff Hall, was also designed by Gibbs and there are several 'beasties' carved into it's exterior that I wondered if they, and other work visible, could also be by Forsyth ?
