Holyrood Church, Southampton, Reredos 1867
21.09.1867
The Hampshire advertiser reports “This church has been closed for the last fortnight in order that the interior may undergo a thorough cleaning and restoration….a reredos is being erected, which when finished, will add much to the appearance of the building.it is executed in Caen stone, and is in the early decorated style. It occupies the entire width of the chancel and does great credit to the gentlemen by whom it was designed and executed – Mr. J. Forsyth of Edward-street, Hampstead-road, London”
This Church was damaged by German bombs in the blitz of November 1940 and the reredos destroyed
