LOCAL NEWS.
IN MEMORIAM. A mural tablet, to the memory of the late rector of St. Swithin's, has just been erected in the south wall of that church. It was
provided by subscription among his friends, was designed by Mr. Hopkins, architect, and carved by Mr. Forsyth, being an elegant arched recess, with
marble shafts, having nicely carved capitals; and on a plain white marble slab in the centre, beneath a cross, is the following inscription: To the
memory of the late Rev. Robert Sarjeant, M.A., 21 years rector of this parish, also rector of Spetchley, where his body is interred in a vault in the
church. Died December 25, 1864, aged 55 years
