St John's churchyard, Claines, Memorial to Thomas Oldham 1870

The Worcestershire Chronicle reports “A beautiful monument has been placed in Claines churchyard, to the memory of the late Mr. Thomas Oldham. The upper part of the monument is a solid block of fine sicilian marble, with a simple cross on the top, raised in relief. This cross is round in form and is supported at each end with foliage….the marble rests on a very fine block of red granite. This appropriate memorial of one so universally and justly beloved is the work of Mr. Forsyth, of this city “
From the description above it looks like the cross has been damaged somewhat over the years
