20.06.1866
The Frome times has a long report on the completion of the work at St Johns Church “ After four years of incessant and energetic and devoted labour, the restoration of the Old Parish Church of Frome is at length complete ………the reredos is an exquisite piece of art……the centre panels represent the institution of the Blessed Sacrament : the two panels on the north side, the striking of the rock by Moses ; those on the south side representing the Children of Israel fed with Manna. The whole of the sculpture is of purest statutory marble and is the work of Mr. Forsyth.“
