LOCAL INTELLIGENCE. OPENING OF THE NEW WESLEYAN CHAPEL. – This chapel, which has lately been erected at Lansdowne, at a cost of 3,500, was opened for divine service on Thursday last. ... The architect is Mr. John Tarring, of London, who has had considerable experience in designing chapels for the Wesleyan body. ... The carving, of which there are some very fine examples on the capitals or the pillars, and at the spring of the arches, was done by Mr. Forsyth, of Worcester. The builders were Messrs. Jones and Son, of Gloucester. Mr. Thompson, their foreman, carrying out his instructions to the satisfaction of the trustees and the architect.
