The Western Chronicle report upon the new pulpit at the abbey “ An important event in the history of the Abbey was observed on Wednesday when a beautiful new pulpit was dedicated by the Bishop of Salisbury, Dr. Wordsworth. The pulpit has been constructed by Messrs. Forsyth of London, who carved the reredos and choir stalls years ago, from a design by Mr. Ingelow, the surviving partner of the firm CARPENTER & INGELOW, who were the architects of the restoration of the tower some 16 years ago “
