Worcester Cemetery, Memorial cross for Sir Charles Hastings 1867
16.02.1867
The Worcester Journal has a report on work in progress at the studio of William Forsyth that includes the following " A memorial to the Late Sir Charles Hastings is also in progress. It takes the form of an ornamental cross, seven feet in height, in sicilian marble. On the arms of the cross are three shields, the centre one of which is to be inlaid with bloodstone, and the two smaller ones either side with dark marble. There is a cable running all around the cross, producing a very pretty effect, and round the base is a neat stone border. This work will be completed in around three months "
It would appear the inlays on this cross have been 'lost' over the years
