The Worcester Herald reports " Cradley Our local artists, Mr Forsyth and Mr Boulton, have been again distinguishing themselves. A few days ago we had the opportunity of inspecting a new reredos recently erected by Mr Forsyth in the new church of St John, at Cradley. It is the gift of Miss Luxmoore, sister of the late Rector of Cradley and Dean of St Asaph. The reredos consists of five compartments...the chiseling is most delicate and the details...carefully finished. Mr Forsyth’s great forte is in foliage, and here he has had an opportunity of exercising his skill to the best possible advantage. ...in Caen Stone. ...in a quatrefoil, then a circle, and the whole in a square, the borders and spandrils being richly decorated with the passion flower, vine, oak, hawthorn and convolvulus "
