The Builder has an article, and includes two engravings, on the Paris Exhibition “ Among the many stone-carvers in England who profess to be foremost, or at any rate forward, in the Modern revival of Medieval art-work, we find but one name, that of Mr. Forsyth ... to Mr. Forsyth belongs the praise, as well as the courage, for running alone. To his executed works he adds models and photographs of those proposed or already completed. His works are so well understood by our readers, that we simply mention that his exhibits include a font and cover for church at Dudley "

The Birmingham post reports “ The new font at St Thomas’s church, Dudley, is at length completed and is to be used for its sacred office tomorrow for the first time…..the whole work is of Caen stone, and is worthy of its eminent sculptor, Mr. James Forsyth, of London, who, assisted by Mr. Blore, the architect, also executed the fountain in the Market place “
